Dunja

About Dunja

Active and resourceful Dunja stays busy in her small town in the mountains of Montenegro! In addition to being a student and skier, Dunja is also an avid table tennis player and has been playing for 8 years! When she’s not training or studying, Dunja stays busy with school, practices, and folklore classes. Her favorite things to do with friends include going to concerts, swimming in the river, camping, and hiking. “I love my group!” she says. Dunja is also close with her parents and younger brother, and she especially appreciates the times her family gets to travel together. Her younger brother is particularly important to her: “Although we sometimes argue,” she says, “I love him the most!”

Dunja aspires to become a lawyer someday because “I like solving problems and mediating issues between my friends.” She is excited that her exchange year will give her the opportunity to solve problems and gain independence – two skills that are sure to be useful in a law career. In her free time, she is also a Red Cross volunteer because she likes helping people. With her friends, Dunja enjoys going for walks, playing video games, and listening to music.

During her exchange year, Dunja is especially looking forward to making new friends and teaching them about her culture, while also learning about theirs. She is excited to play sports, and maybe continuing to play table tennis (with her host family and new friends, if they’re interested!)! Dunbja is excited to try “other sports or activities that my host family and high school can provide!” Wherever her host family lives, Dunja knows that she’s sure to have a great year in her new host community!
